I agree that rebuilding everything is the way to go, and it looks like that this has happened and everything is fine now regarding libXfixes.so.0. Right? If not, what about putting the libXfixes.so.0 -> libXFixes.so.3 symlink into the libxfixes3 package? As far as I understand, that is a correct fix since the two libs are ABI compatible. Given for example the following: widget_class "*.GtkToolButton.GtkButton" style "osso-toolbutton" It fails to apply the 'osso-toolbutton' style correctly to the widgets if one is using custom widget derived from GtkToolButton or GtkButton. With gtk+ 2.10 the above could be better written as: widget_class "*.." style "osso-toolbutton" http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-Resource-Files.html It seems there are applications working around the derivation problem by referring directly to the styles by name ("osso-toolbutton" and similar) from the code. This includes input methods and maemo-af-desktop which renders the whole development environment / device unusable. There is an easy workaround (removing --booster gtk from /etc/init.d/maemo-launcher) and we can make a suitable maemo-launcher version available together with gtk package, so this is not urgent. The reason for the crash is that maemo-launcher abuses knowledge about gtk internals which changed from 2.6 to 2.10. Most likely this is related to the change from pango/xft to pango/cairo, however my attempt to comment out just that part of code didn't help. We need to go through all the initializations maemo-launcher does one by one :-/ -- Configure bugmail: https://maemo.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact. In upstream 2.10 most of this stuff is fixed, so the launcher has no chance of caching the stuff that it shouldn't cache (keeping resources allocated across display close / display reopen is a very bad hack actually :-) We need to undo some 2.10 fixes and leak these things again to make the launcher work again. -- Configure bugmail: https://maemo.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact. Setting the old screen's GtkSettings on the new screen will probably just continue to work. However, much of the stuff that was "cached" in various places in gtk-2-6 is now correctly freed. So we gotta either live with a less-effective launcher, or we need to back out some of these fixes in order to keep the things again that should actually be freed on display close. -- Configure bugmail: https://maemo.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact. Hmmm, I don't really like either of the options, reverting correct fixes just for the launcher and thus have a leaky gtk upstream or a slower launcher. What about being able to retrieve such cached stuff in an opaque data blob(s), and then being able to feed it back? For gtk+ 2.10 that is actually harmful as it is instructing gtk+ to load modules with incompatible ABI. As setting GTK_PATH is causing problems and there is no visible benefit or rationale, it should be removed. -- Configure bugmail: https://maemo.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact. To paint the focused row background, the rules are as follows: function = FLAT_BOX state = ACTIVE shadow = NONE for active, OUT for passive focus To handle the row endings differently, one should set GtkTreeView::row-ending-details = 1 and use in addition the following details: # detail = %s / %s_start / %s_middle / %s_end # where # %s = "cell_odd_ruled_sorted" # | "cell_even_ruled_sorted" # | "cell_odd_ruled" # | "cell_even_ruled" # | "cell_odd_sorted" # | "cell_even_sorted" # | "cell_odd" # | "cell_even" Or more conveniently when the distinction between odd and even rows is not interesting: detail = "*_start" (or "*_middle" or "*_end") -- Configure bugmail: https://maemo.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact.
