I agree that rebuilding everything is the way to go, and it looks like that this
has happened and everything is fine now regarding libXfixes.so.0.  Right?

If not, what about putting the libXfixes.so.0 -> libXFixes.so.3 symlink into the
libxfixes3 package?  As far as I understand, that is a correct fix since the two
libs are ABI compatible.  Right?
