That's something different. Just to clarify, do you mean that
  1) pymaemo lists the "show-expanders" property, but trying to use it prints a
warning or similar? or
  2) treeview expanders are hidden by default? (unlike stock gtk)

If 2) then please file it separately as it has nothing to do with pymaemo or
virtually anything in comment 0


The UI design is such that expanding rows always have an icon, and that icon
would be different for expanded/collapsed row. See the file manager for example,
and GtkCellRendererPixbuf:pixbuf-expander-closed, pixbuf-expander-open
