Summary: Selling N800 in Australia, the N800 needs the en_AU
                    locale to be available.
           Product: System software
           Version: 3.x
          Platform: N800
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Unspecified
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: carlos at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: n800 at dawnmist.net
         QAContact: hafqa at maemo.org

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Ability to configure an Australian-bought N800 to use Australian-compatible
settings.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Cannot select an Australian locale (the standard en_AU locale has been
excluded).

CONSEQUENCE:
There is no single locale that appears to correctly define the mix of
localisation data to match Australian usage.

en_GB uses the wrong currency symbols, and the wrong keyboard.
en_US uses the worng date formats, incorrect spelling, and non metric/ISO units
(e.g. Australia does not use 'letter' sized paper, we use A4).

Using most European locales results in the wrong currency symbols, and the
wrong decimal separator (Australia uses '.' as a 'decimal point'). We expect to
see $1,000.00 not EUR1.000,00.

Being as the en_AU locale actually exists in the POSIX standard, it needs to be
added and enabled in the N800 now that Nokia are officially selling the N800 in
Australia. It's extremely frustrating to have to choose between which sections
you want to have displayed/treated incorrectly simply because the correct
implementation has been excluded.
