Summary: Date widget does not use locale setting for day/month
                    names
           Product: System software
           Version: 4.0
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Low
         Component: hildon-libs
        AssignedTo: michael.kostrzewa at nokia.com
        ReportedBy: maemo at haerwu.biz
         QAContact: hildon-libs-bugs at maemo.org

OS 2007.50.2 on N810 with Polish regional settings on tablet.

Date widget should use "%a" to get short names of days ("%B" for month names).
Now it looks like it has it hardcoded or provided by translation of interface.
