STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:Install FBReader (with apt-get or GUI)

EXPECTED OUTCOME:FBReader works

ACTUAL OUTCOME:Upon starting FBReader, the dialog says "Loading FBReader" then
nothing happens

REPRODUCIBILITY:always
(always/sometimes/once)

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:

OTHER COMMENTS:I installed FBReader once, and then, discouraged at the apparent
lack of books for it, I uninstalled.  Then having found some books, I tried
reinstalling.  I have done this four times; twice with the GUI, twice with
apt-get; in each case, with and without a reboot after removing or installing. 
The results are the same.

If this is the wrong place to report this bug, please redirect me.

I don't understand the "User Agent" info below - you are describing the Mac I
am using to report the bug, not the platform on which the bug occurs.
