Have you installed any additional software or do you have any programs
running when this happens?  With full charge (device being charged until
it says that battery is full) and no apps/applets running, it should
last several days.

This happens when your battery doesn't have enough charge.

Did you in this case have charger attached?

If the screen lighted up for a while earlier, it's possible that you've
drained the battery completely.  Have you charged the device and did it
actually report that it was charging? (we've had reports from people
who've managed to break their charger wire)
