I've had the same experience with my N800 that I received in Dec. as a gift.

I sent it to Nokia for repair. They returned it with repair doc stating they
did a "Full Software Upgrade & Phone Reset"

But the problem is still present. I haven't found any way to get it to
consistently turn on. The 3-minute trick doesn't work. I've tried all the
combinations/tricks suggested on the boards and wikis.

I've had it boot up after being shutdown for just a couple minutes, and I've
had it *not* boot up after sitting off for a day.

I've tried pulling the battery and memory card. Nothing seems to work
consistently.

I'd be happy to help debug if there's anything you guys would like me to try.

I doubt there's any point in returning it to Nokia again, and it's too late to
return it to buy.com now.
