I can confidently say that an OS upgrade will not help. Both of my dud devices
came with the same version of OS2007 installed (I forgot the version number). I
updated the firmware/OS to 2008 V:2.2007.50-2 and it did not solve my turning
on problem. (If you want to upgrade you got 1 shot per day; which is to turn
off device, wait 1 day and follow turn on instructions to upgrade OS.)

My only way of getting a functional device is to opt for 2 exchanges. My third
device is working properly. I can properly turn on the device at will! woot!
