https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2878 ------- Comment #27 from thomas at mich.com 2008-07-10 23:41 GMT+3 ------- Sending some unknown blob of data to https://supl.nokia.com:7275/ and getting some unknown blob back doesn't help. I have a second GPS that I could use to show visible satellites (plus azm/elev) so if I knew what it was pushing I could see if it the values were sane. For that matter I don't know if the values it is sending up are sane though the red dot was at the right location in the agps-ui app. (my revised GPSD actually can use both the internal and a BT GPS, so I could use the BT GPS data to push the internal if I knew how). Let me ask for something REALLY, REALLY simple. A utility to display what it thinks the satellite information is that I could run from Xterm or wherever so I can see if anything sensible is being saved or maybe explain the complete loss of information in the 30 seconds it takes to relaunch. I could also compare it with the image from that prior link. Even better if I could set it using the same utility. Some of the stuff is proprietary, fine. How about a non-proprietary CLI that would at least show the basic data so we might have a chance at diagnosing things. Maybe some hardware is bad or broken but we have no way of knowing. Having even a log file with "this is what it thinks the time, lat, and long are" would go far. Having a way to manually set it would be even better (e.g. set, and see if the values stick). Has anyone at Nokia even tried the map start / exit / relaunch and does it work reliably for them or not? For a lot of us, it is 100% completely repeatable failure. Maybe something as simple as being at a far west longitude. I don't know. And I can't help if I don't have either information as to what is going on under the hood or a utility that would at least let me see if things make sense or not. And the way it is acting, if it is being told or remembering I'm in australia instead of minnesota it would explain things. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.maemo.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Replies to this email are NOT read, instead please add comments at https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2878 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact.
