Sorry for the delay - I replied via email on 15 May 2008, as follows:

This has only happened with one card (I do not currently own any other
compatible cards).

Card is Dane-Elec 2GB microSD (kit with miniSD, SD, and USB adapters) - model
name/number unlisted. All other functions that I have tried (read/write, mount
on different hardware) seem good.
