Summary: Cannot remove menu entries for partially installed /
                    applications / stubs
           Product: System software
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Low
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: nobody at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: unattended at gmail.com
         QAContact: hafqa at maemo.org

SOFTWARE VERSION:
4.2008.23-14

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

1. On any freshly flashed device open your Applications menu and under "My
Selection" and run Rhapsody.

2. Hit "Cancel" to exit the install when the "Rhapsody music service is only
available in the USA. Install Rhapsody?" message appears.

3. Select "Yes" when you're asked "Do you wish to move Rhapsody application
from 'My selection'?"

4. Now you're @ Control Panel -> Panels -> Applications (Organize). Attempting
to remove program menu items/icons for default applications which have not been
fully installed (Rhapsody, Skype or Gizmo) is not possible.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Applications with menu entries and icons that are "present" but not installed
should be removable if the user does not want them. (Rhapsody, Skype or Gizmo)

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
User cannot remove these items neatly. The only simple method at the moment is
to install the application then uninstall it.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
Always.

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
None.

OTHER COMMENTS:
This is somewhat related to bug 3292 with a fresh install of Diablo. I simply
wanted to remove the Rhapsody menu item (don't need or use it) but since the
application wasn't up to date it failed to install. As a result, the menu item
cannot be removed.

Maybe an option to hide menu items could prove useful in cases like this.
