Summary: When hidden, a gtk statusicon becomes invisible but
                    status area doesn't shrink
           Product: System software
           Version: 4.1.2 (4.2008.36-5)
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Low
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: nobody at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: owen at ywwg.com
         QAContact: hafqa at maemo.org

SOFTWARE VERSION:
4.2008.36-5

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:
Create a gtk status icon
call set_visible(False)

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
The icon should disappear completely from the status area, and the space it was
using should be reclaimed by the other icons.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Although the icon becomes invisible, it still takes up space in the status area

REPRODUCIBILITY:
always

EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
I'm using the python2.5 gtk bindings.

OTHER COMMENTS:
I'll try to write a test-case if necessary, but I think that the maintainer of
the relevant code might be able to figure out the problem even without one.
Please let me know if a test-case is required.
