Sorry, I read the thing about the /etc/sudoers banners only after mailing the
above comment. With them the above is not an issue.

No invalid, it just may get overwritten. :-)

Well, I think it should be enough to have the banners say that stuff between
them shouldn't be modified (the sudoes file will has multiple banners), but
it's kind of hard to change that now that they're already in use.  Maybe for
Fremantle it could be changed e.g. to:
### Start of DO NOT EDIT part automatically added by update-sudoers. ###
...
### End of DO NOT EDIT part automatically added by update-sudoers. ###
