[maemo-community] [maemo2midgard] Social news post beta launch

So we had http://maemo.org/news/ beta revamp yesterday, combined with
the Calendar. Please test, use, give feedback.

Now some things are changed/broken out of these to betas, which kind of
tells me that never ever we have to rush again to get something
released. During the launch there were pages broken, cache problems and
so on. We got an email in maemo-developers and we ignore how many more
people were accessing the site while this was happening.

A small detail I really don't understand is how you can get the primary
navigation wrong and specially how it can be still wrong the day after -
http://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1817 . As said is a small detail
but I think that details like this affect the external perception of our
website and the developments we make on it.

Quality criteria for next time: planned launches considering how they
will affect the site + previous announcements of the changes and
possible unstability of the site. This also applies to upgrades etc.
Otherwise good news (new products or better platforms) get turned into
bad impressions ("maemo.org is down again").

But no big problem either, let's move ahead.

Henri, what are your plans with the social news? Are you continuing
development alone or do you want me to review the requirements to see
what is accomplished and missing?

I have filed some bugs, are you getting the notifications of the user
news at maemo.org directly? I just want to make sure they don't end up
somewhere not followed.
