[maemo-community] [maemo2midgard] Application Catalog launch; congratulations!

Hello,

We finally got green light to announce the application catalog. The
new address is:
http://downloads.maemo.org. Congratulations to all of us :)

The Application Catalog is a really big step in the website renewal
project. I would like to use the opportunity to thank to all of you
the hard work so far.

We can have a short break now, but remember our main objective is the
full website revamp. I will try the new midcom release during this
weekend (thanks to our friends at Midgard Project!). Hopefully it will
bring us some fixes for existing bugs. Also it is supposed to add
pagination to the catalog, which is one of the most wanted features
[1].
We have other existing bugs and those should be addressed before we
jump to Phase 2. If we can not fix them now, then we must have very
good reasons to postpone them to the new phase.
By the way Phase 2. I will update the task list at garage. Some tasks
will be assigned, but some will need an owner.  I try to draft an
iteration plan ("roadmap") as well, so we can better "promise"
features to the community and to Nokia :)
