Hi, 2008/8/15 Dave Neary <dneary at maemo.org>: > Especially noteworthy for me was that a number of people (6) have > negative karma - mostly from having blog posts aggressively buried. A > couple of the people in this situation surprised me a lot! The 6 > negatives are: chri_ke, karoliina, maddler, mikel, thoughtfix and zeenix. Yes, it seems the users of Planet Maemo are quite trigger-happy with the "Bury" button. It would be interesting to know whether it is a large number of users, or just couple of unhappy individuals. But yes, at the moment if your blog posts have been buried a lot you will get punished in karma. But maybe we could lower the impact a bit? All the karma variables are configurable anyway... > The conclusion I draw from this is that 90% of people who create a > maemo.org account never do anything with it This is not very suprising, for two reasons: * That is what most people do: they register but then forget about the whole thing * We don't count everything in karma yet. Garage commits, tickets, etc would probably reduce that 90% to a more reasonable number For the latter point, it would be a good idea if people post enhancement requests on needed karma calculation plugins to bugzilla. I would be more than happy to implement more of them. At least ITT integration has been discussed, and is in the "100 days" plan. > Dave. /Henri -- Henri Bergius Nemein - Web Craftsmanship http://nemein.com
