Hi all, You have all surely noticed the same thing that I did when I downloaded my email after getting back from holidays - after a flurry of early announcements, there has only been one more candidate to declare himself in the last 2 weeks. This is just a gentle reminder that nominations will be closing at 23:59 UTC on the 2nd of September, that is, in a little more than 48 hours (51 hours, to be exact). I would be delighted to see a wider range of candidates for the election, representing different views of our community and the council (since the inaugural council will, in all likelihood, decide what the council's role will be). This is a great chance for those who are unhappy with the way things are to engage and facilitate deep changes in the Maemo community. This is also a great opportunity for those who are happy with the way things are to ensure that those rowdy disruptive elements don't ruin things ;-) I hope to see a rush of last-minute candidates declare themselves over the next two days, followed by a lively debate allowing maemo.org members to vote knowing what each of the candidates stand for. Cheers, Dave. -- maemo.org docsmaster Email: dneary at maemo.org Jabber: bolsh at jabber.org
