Fully behind the change to Maemo. Other projects have found to their
detriment that tricky capitalisation and naming is a mess
(OpenOffice.org, GNOME).

The brand building ideas are strong too, but will have a longish
transition period. It would be an idea to ask developers of applications
like Maemo Weather, Maemo Mapper, etc. if they're willing to change
(rather than just publish the guidelines).

The one note of caution that I would add for the logo contest is that
standards may vary wildly, and you should have a fall-back plan in the
case where no option is up to scratch. The OpenSolaris logo competition
is worth a look for how they did this.
