I think the first paragraphs at
https://wiki.maemo.org/Task:maemo.org_logo_contest as crystal clear:
this is all about "maemo.org", the logo for the Maemo community that
will be defined and handled by the own community.

Nokia keeps the rights on "Maemo" as usual.

What is the problem creating one account, then? One minute, free of
charge. It's a practical way to have a confirmed email address and a
profile page. And anyway they will go far better with a wiki login
instead of an IP address.
