Hi, I don't want to make a storm in a tea-cup, but with the work on the development portal, we have a classic example of how multiple communication forums can be tricky. Quim modified the wiki page http://wiki.maemo.org/Task:Improving_maemo.org/Development last week (which I hadn't been watching, without realising it), adding specifically one comment that I want to reply to. We have 3 possible persistent forums for discussing something like this (I'm deliberately leaving out IRC): * I can add a response on the wiki page - or, as I did, move what is kind of opinion to the Talk page and add a response there * I could add a comment to the bug open on the issue in Bugzilla: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3178 * I could mail the mailing list And I really didn't know which one was best - in the second and third case, I would be quoting text from a wiki page, but a wiki page really isn't a good place to have a discussion. What is the recommended course of action in cases like this? Discuss in Bugzilla, commit to the wiki? I don't really want to grow another hairy wiki page which has lots of discussion in the main page (thus my edits to remove anything that looked like subjective opinion from the page). Cheers, Dave. -- maemo.org docsmaster Email: dneary at maemo.org Jabber: bolsh at jabber.org
