Agreed. Although - no offence Tim - IME, designers are often stuck
down a certain path, very similarly to developers, once they've honed
in on a solution.

Agreed. I like the higher contrast of Andre's design, however in some
ways prefer the layout (especially the news) of Glaubert's.

In particular, on Andre's design, I like:
   * The slightly more distinct areas of downloads/news/community.
   * The higher contrast.

On Glaubert's design, I like:
   * The increased, and less heavy handed, treatment of "News".
   * The consistent styling of the buttons in the header.

Both designs are showing the same information. I've not caught up on
all the discussions, but it seems we've gone back to areas based on
technology, rather than by use-case:

Top-level links of:
   * About
   * News
   * Downloads
   * Development
   * Documentation

(What gets highlighted in Bugzilla? Where is unofficial developer
documentation?)

Front page links to:
   * Downloads
   * News
   * Get Involved (community?) - what does this relate to in the top?
   * Get Help (bugzilla?) - again, see above.
   * People (how is this distinct from community)

I'd like to see some more explanatory text from both Glaubert and
Andre as to how their designs would actually be used in practice.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew
