To be honest, this looks like a good About page, but it looks like too
static for the home. It looks like useful for first timers but visiting
it time after time might bore people soon.

I'm surprised about the total lack of feedback about my mockup snif snif.

And do you really think that we want to pull all the great stuff out of
maemo.org? maemo.nokia.com and Forum Nokia must add and not take. Add
all the stuff maemo.org is not providing alone and a competitive
software platform needs nowadays.

I didn't spend more than 90 seconds drawing that About box because a) it
looked to me the less critical part of the page and b) I had to leave
the office. :) Therefore I have no concrete proposal other than
providing a tag line, a couple of screenshots and links to the official
Nokia main sites that deal with Maemo: maemo.nokia.com and Forum Nokia
(ITt has a block just next to that and this is not a coincidence).

Jussi has explained what maemo.nokia.com plans to do next to maemo.org

About Forum Nokia, the idea is to host the official documentation and
whatever official deliveries Nokia provides to developers + the Forum
Nokia services that are mainly focused to professional developers:
collaborations under NDA, protos, special deals, training, professional
support, other stuff involving money, invoices and such (e.g. developer
device programs).

Your idea is our idea as well.

The "grand scheme of things" is being drawn as we speak, with the Maemo
community. maemo.nokia.com and Forum Nokia plans are in early stages of
development and they are conditioned to the current maemo.org and it's
future success. It is difficult for us to think on a successful Maemo
software platform happening at the same time than a maemo.org
dissolution. On the other hand, a successful and growing maemo.org is
surely a clear symptom of the consolidation and success of this platform.

Makes sense, isn't it.
