The search box is very important. It's just that the backend code that
does the search needs some fixing. As I tried to explain in [A], there
are many things that could be accessed quickly from the search box.

People don't navigate for content nowadays, they search for it. If not,
everybody would be having www.dmoz.org as start page instead of
www.google.com - and even dmoz.org has a search box for that matter ;)

In my opinion, I really want to have a good search box. What needs to
be fixed (and should be fixed!) are the results. Having good search
results and bringing people where they want in just one search makes a
good user experience :)
