Hi all,

For those of you not subscribed to the relevant wiki pages (I know it
can be hard to track work going on in 2 different places), I updated the
https://wiki.maemo.org/Task:Improving_maemo.org page last Friday to
reflect the current state of the home page refresh.

The main point of the update was to change this page from a discussion
(which is what it was before) to a plan for the front page and for the
rest of the site. I hope I've succeeded in that goal.

That plan is essentially implementing Tim's proposal for the content
which will appear on the front page, and detailing other pages which
need substantial work - to move the focus of the discussion to the 3
pages which we now need to design & lay out, Development, Support and
Community. The remainder of the work needed on the site stems from these.

Each of these currently has a proposal for content, but not much work
done yet on layout.

It was also to try to define a charter for the designers who are going
to take this from where it is to completion:
 - Define the constraints
 - Define the visual elements which are to be included
 - Specify areas where the designer will have freedom

I felt it might be useful to repost this to the list, to get people to
go have a look & perhaps supplement the discussion.

Cheers,
Dave.
