Apart from wanting to see more news items on the page (5+) the layout
and style appeal to me.

I will add one slightly cautious comment though, the right hand column
seems to take up at least 35%-40% of the width although it doesn't
convey that much information. Can this be reduced to encompass the more
dynamic side (the left hand one) a bit more?
