My turn... > What do you bring to the council that no other candidate does? I'm a media industry veteran with a pragmatic philosophy of user experience issues, end-user satisfaction, and digital media in general. I value customability, but at the same time, understand a need to create an end product that is usable and sellable. I work in a large corporation (20,000 employees) and understand and can navigate corporate bureaucracy as well as budgeting and cycle time issues -- I've also been highly successful in learning how to circumvent some of these potential blockers. I am versed on the Mac, PC, and Linux platforms and realize that while they all have aspects that keep the end-user in mind, there are lots of things in every platform that still need a lot of work. > What do you expect to achieve on/with the council? What's your top > priority issue to resolve, and how do you plan to help make that happen? I would like to see a centralized location for Maemo/maemo.org information to be stored and presented. A lot has been achieved with the new wiki so far, and I see great potential for its use in the future. I aim to help correlate the variety of sources for Maemo-related information (from within and outside of the community) into a place that's easily accessible by all community members, whether this be through a "Council Blog," or other wise. > Where do you want to see the council at the end of your term in 6 months? In six months, the council should have: * A firm grasp on an organizational process for Maemo dissemination * An internal (and documented) governing process that deals with Council meeting schedules, Council-related announcements, communication with Nokia, and community advocacy * A concrete method for new Council nominations and election * A roadmap for Maemo Summit 2009 > From: David Greaves <david at dgreaves.com> > What are you going to do if you get it? Go to Disneyland.
