Hi, these days the Maemo marketing team is preparing the plans for 2009.
Sponsoring and participation in events takes a good chunk of it.

You can help pointing to the events you think we should support. The
focus now is in the first semester but suggestions on the second half
are welcome too of course.

Sponsorship is an obvious way to support an event but we are also
interested hearing about events where we could support Maemo community
activities - like having a booth, supporting missionaries, funding the
production of maemo.org swag...

In parallel to this, let's start discussing about meeting again in a
Maemo Summit way. Having it next to a related event seems to be a good
idea to keep. Every year or every 6 months? Perhaps we can aim at a 1
bigger every year, with the developer focus but also extending it to a
more user-contributor friendly focus, and then have 1 or more smaller
meetings in between - also to cover better different geographic regions
and not end up always in the same kind of centric places.

http://fosdem.org/ & http://www.bossaconference.indt.org/ come to mind
to do something 6 months after Berlin...

Any other ideas on how to support open source projects and
activities are most welcome.
