Hi, Markus Schneider wrote: >> The council should, indeed, represent these members of the >> community >> (after all, to some extent they have a maemo.org account), >> but should >> this silently majority have the ability to change the >> outcome of the >> election for those who *do* actively contribute on a daily >> basis? > > That said, I repeat, why not increase the needed karma to 100? This way we surely have active contributors. Karma 25 is far too easy to reach in that sense. Well, looking at the numbers, you're always going to see people who should be included, but who aren't in the list. At 100, you are sure to have only active contributors, but you are also certain to exclude some active contributors who should be able to vote. The two arbitrary levels (and I will admin they're arbitrary) which have been suggested are 10 and 25. For the last election, at 10, we would have included about 1000 maemo.org accounts, at 25 we would have included about 450. I think there's an argument to be made that 25 might be too high, but let's get more up to date figures before we close that discussion. I think 100 would definitely be too high. And given what you say afterwards, I think that you think this too. Cheers, Dave. -- maemo.org docsmaster Email: dneary at maemo.org Jabber: bolsh at jabber.org
