I got the same number (598), the same way (and about the same time) Graham
did, by looking at the maemo.org user list, sorted by karma, 30 lines per
page. 25 is two from the bottom on page 30.

As for the ~900 in the last election, I initially saw it (936) on
http://www.internettablettalk.com/2008/09/11/maemo-community-council-election-results/,
but it's been tossed around this discussion several times.
