[maemo-community] Sprint meeting & process

Hi all,

One of the team members expressed concern to me that he is trying to log his
activity, but that it is being ignored. I must confess, I don't watch the
status updates closely, mainly because there's too much noise in there.

Honestly, I don't care much for generic activity logs. I don't really care
that the team members show that they are keeping busy. I assume you are
keeping busy with maemo.org work, and that you're doing good stuff for us.

I just want to see what is happening on specific tasks within the sprint.
And not so that I can "police" the team, but so I can get a better
understanding of the tasks and why some are done quickly, and why some get
stuck. The tasks in the Sprint table are the tasks that everyone agreed were
the most important ones, so I want to watch what's going on with those
things, and try to understand the work that's being done to accomplish those
tasks.

I am still having difficulty looking at the table at the top of the Sprint
wiki page and connecting it to the activity log at the bottom of the page. I
would love to have some way to look at a task and then see what work has
been done on it; the current system doesn't have any way to do that.

Ideally, I could click on the task reference, and it would show activity
within the month for that task. That would tell me how time consuming this
task is for you, what kind of successes, problems and unexpected
difficulties you're encountering, etc.

When the end of the sprint comes, there really shouldn't be much to report,
it should be clear from the status in the table and the associated activity
reports what happened with all of the items in the table.

This kind of system would also make it clear that you could use some help in
some areas, and since tasks are already prioritized, it will be obvious
where help is most needed.

If you find yourself being swamped by non-sprint activities, we could have
some kind of tag for that kind of work, and there really should be some way
to note if urgent non-sprint tasks intrude on a sprint task...

It is possible that there's already a system for this in place and I'm
missing it. If so, please show me how to get the information I need.
