[maemo-community] UPDATE2: Maemo Info Center library service released with first set of official maemo Fremantle 5 documentation

Hi again,

As I promised below here is the third (and the final) set of Fremantle documents updated to the Maemo Info Center service (http://library.maemodocs.nokia.com/). I now have all Fremantle documents and examples that have gone through review and approval process published in Maemo Info Center and Garage. In addition to these official docs there is, of course, huge amount of additional documentation available in Maemo.org wiki and upstream projects.

As a reminder official Fremantle example applications are available here:

Huge thanks for those who have participated developing Maemo developer documentation and infrastructure for Diablo/Fremantle during couple of previous years. I will not be responsible of Harmattan developer documentation anymore (or releases after that) but I will take a little break for a long time and continue working on just Maemo Fremantle documentation and infrastructure to finalize it.

“Maemo Hildon 2.2 UI Guide” and “Maemo Hildon 2.2. UI Widget Guide” documents will replace following four Hildon UI related documents published earlier in Forum Nokia site:  “Master Layout Guide”, “Hildon 2.2. UI Style Guide”, “Maemo 5 Desktop Widget UI Guidelines”, and “Hildon 2.2. Widget UI Specification”.

Known issues for Maemo Documentation Toolchain
-MediaWiki imported documents have errors in bibliography references, this is MediaWiki bug
-MediaWiki imported documents have sometimes (only in “Maemo Hildon 2.2 UI Widget Guide” at the moment) errors in code listings, this is bug in HTML to MediaWiki conversion library

We are still studying if these toolchain problems can be fixed (to MediaWiki and conversion library) or workarounds created to the Maemo Documentation Toolchain. Until these issues are fixed MediaWiki imported documents need to be fixed by hand for these two formatting problems.

Known issues for Maemo Info Center
-Maemo Info Center theme will be reimplemented (text background color will be changed to white etc for better readability and site title will be fixed to support better search engines)
-Maemo Eclipse IDE (ESBox and PluThon) integration will be enabled for all new and updated documents (searches from Eclipse IDE will work and docs can be downloaded and installed to IDE)

Probably next week we will have also Eclipse integration updated to the latest document releases.

The Maemo documentation infrastructure project has released new Maemo Info Center documentation service for Maemo platform. Together with Maemo Info Center service we released also the first set of official Maemo Fremantle 5 documentation. More Fremantle 5 documentation will be updated to the Maemo Info Center service end of April.

Maemo Info Center service is a developer documentation library that features a collection of current information relevant to Maemo developers, ranging from designers to programmers. Maemo Info Center service is available from this URL http://library.maemodocs.nokia.com/.

The Maemo Info Center service is your source for technical information about Maemo platform releases and related development tools. Additional documentation can be found from maemo.org wiki (http://wiki.maemo.org) and individual open source technology projects.

Maemo.org wiki will have all same tutorials available as Maemo Info Center so that Maemo community members are able to contribute and develop Maemo documentation further. See http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation for wiki versions.
