I think what people have noticed is that Moblin seems not to have much place
for the user/enthusiast element of community. If you take those people out
of Maemo, it's a much smaller community. I think the 'Oh Teh Noes' are
coming from people who have struggled to feel at home in a mixed dev-user
community, and are anxious that they will have to start over justifying
their place in the community with a bunch of people who don't seem to
expect/want users and enthusiasts as comunity members at all.

There are some technical discussions (yes you guessed, the bear is
struggling to follow them) about the relative virtues of moblin and maemo,
and what meego will be. But much of the angst on t.m.o is about a) will my
n900 still get support and b) will our community be radically changed.

Good pieces of advice flying around on twitter: since maemo out numbers
moblin in terms of community members, we need to make it clear up front who
we consider community members. I hope that will include the non-developer
end-user bears as well as the clever people who understand it all.
