Because wiki can be edited simultaneously, there is always a possibility of conflict. That's why I am fond to making small edits and saving. Just like working with machine that has random BSODs. That too isn't a perfect equation but there is no available. For example categorization of pages gives a hell lot more karma than editing one article from stub to near perfection. btw, has karma recalculation been disabled recently?
