By inheritance. Those Maemo users & developers who become MeeGo users & developers can move to meego.com. However it's not clear that the MeeGo community will take the same form as the Maemo community. Device vendors *may* have their own fora, or a third party one may accomodate them. It's not clear that the "pure" meego.com is the place for a Nokia enthusiast, for example.

MeeGo 1.1 is in feature freeze. It cannot make phone calls or send text messages in the public build, nor can it yet use a 3G data connection. MeeGo 1.1 is currently far from a day-to-day OS for the N900.

As for MeeGo-Harmattan HE, this is a different beast. Will it benefit from the MeeGo ecosystem? If so, will developers be abstracted from the packaging system sufficiently? Will it be able to use binary packages for Harmattan directly?
