hate to interrupt the discussion, but.... had noticed a long time ago that backups were made up of 5 ZIP files when i did a test earlier to see if unzip on the N900 was able to handle those i noticed that other.zip contained /home/user/fuelpad.db alas it was only after sending out my previous answer that i realized that it isn't part of standard fremantle & that there had thus to be a way to add files to the standard osso-backup 1st thought was any (db?) file included in /home/user ~:o) either way, the unzip worked just fine, simply because i never bothered adding a password to my backups from unzip -hh i noticed that there is an option funzip password .... thus maybe it is simply possible to use the password there? anyway, thanks to all for your inputs & tips ¦:-} to Estel: yep, installed backup menu, used it shortly & reflashed both my N900s to get ride of it :@ with all due respect to Robbie, it's not even ½ backed (up) - can't use it to transfer a setup from one device to another, thus - can't make a *real* restore after a re-flash, neither :mad: still have the idea in the back of my mind to port partimage & use Nin101's Rescue OS to make +real+ backups :D sincerely, mr.c. -- View this message in context: http://maemo-community-mailing-lists.2589537.n2.nabble.com/Missing-source-code-for-GPL-ed-Maemo-s-5-osso-backup-tp7577680p7580115.html Sent from the maemo-community mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
