<div dir="ltr">Unfortunately Qwerty12 declined my nomination and we're still waiting to hear from Attilla77 (hoping he'll accept).<br />

But in general, the ideal would be more candidates running than positions (so as to have true choice) as well as broad geographic coverage to represent areas where Maemo has or could have traction.  So far there are only two confirmed candidates, both from the US, and time is running out (acceptance deadline is March 16 23:59 UTC).<br />

Speaking of time-- yes the position can consume quite a bit but it could be simply a matter of reallocation rather than addition.  I chose to champion a few areas where I already had interest, expertise and existing projects and it worked out well.<br />
<br />
I am urging anyone on the fence to think real hard about making this commitment and running.  This is especially crucial as we transition to MeeGo-- if this election fares poorly, that may not bode well for the concept of community councils going forward.<br />
