I have been pressed to run again for maemo.org council by some members but am concerned about my potential level of contribution. Available time has been lean lately.

However... IF only 4 members declare by the deadline, then consider this my announcement as fifth. My preference though is that I be bumped by someone new. ;)

Qualifying statement:

"Experienced product innovator and former Nokia quality engineer who was directly involved in the launch and support of Linux-powered mobile computers like the N800. 2011 Forum Nokia Champion, two-time maemo.org community council representative and current MeeGo community advocate, working on grassroots marketing process and the MeeGo community device program as well as other key community initiatives. Founder of Maemo Greeters and MeeGo Greeters, successful community self-help programs. Manages MeeGo Network DFW (http://www.meetup.com/MeeGo-Network-DFW/).

"Writer for Tabula Crypticum (http://tabulacrypticum.wordpress.com) on "best practices, random analyses and sober speculation", and at Intel's AppUp developer site (http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/blogs/randall-arnold). "

If I participate again, my focus will be on getting Maemo more (or even fully) under community control. NOTE: council members typically lack the legal, financial and other wherewithall to do more than petition for Nokia's consideration.

Thanks,
