Hello,

we have some improvements and minor updates in OpenEmbedded for creating
filesystem images for the 770.
The familiar-0.8.3 GPE image includes the new gpe-mini-browser based on
GtkWebcore and several updated pieces of software.

Known issues:
Device control lacks support for the control daemons. Sleep works as long as you
don't need wireless LAN because you need to kill the device control daemons and
unmount /mnt/initfs/sys in order to enable wireless LAN. If you use an initrd
older than w29 wireless LAN should work out of the box.

The maemo image is still waiting for some bugfixes in the maemo packages.

In progress:
Backlight control is expected to work with latest GPE bits in OE.
I'm going to add gpe-mini-browser which has a Hildon UI now to the maemo image.
