[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] ANN: Python for Maemo community site

We would like to announce the starting of Python for Maemo Community web
site, hosted at Source Forge on

http://pymaemo.sourceforge.net/

to concentrate contributions, discussions and everything else related to
Python on Maemo platform.

We choose SourceForge  because they offer the necessary tools
to maintain the project, like bug tracking, mailing list, tasks, file
repository, CVS, etc. Moreover, SourceForge is a traditional place for
this kind of development project.

The initial page is a open wiki and we think it is
the fast way to people begins to contribute. We encourage people
to submit bug reports, enhancements or suggestions too.

Python for Maemo is now made by many packages. These packages are ready
for installation on i386 and arm architectures (for scratchbox
and Nokia 770 usage). They are are now in stable stage:

- Python 2.4
- PyGame 1.6
- PyGTK and PyHildon

It is important to notice that Hildon bindings are under
CVS control and supports the most of widgets available to
C developers.
