I suppose the "correct" way would be to use the mysterious osso-media-server for audio playback, but I don't know of any documentation on this. Therefore, the easier way is to use libSDL (which is an integral library on the 770 anyway) to play sounds. libao with esd backend works as well but would add an additional unnecessary dependency to your application and provides no means for volume control. http://www.libsdl.org Regards, Martin
