I ran into the same touble with the Live-CD. You might either use 
softlinks or use the mount option "-bind" which allows relocating part 
of the directory tree.

Mounting /usr/scratchbox to /scratchbox might do the trick. But be aware 
that you have to set some softlinks afterwards to make everything 
compile properly.
