You should check the "Integrating applications to maemo Framework" chapter from
maemo tutorial:
http://maemo.org/platform/docs/tutorials/Maemo_tutorial.html#integration

You need to make at least desktop & service files to get the application in the
Task Navigator menu. Also you could do libosso integration but then you should
use the SDL wrapper, Kuisma can probably help more in this if needed.

Yep, zoom HW buttons can easily be used from SDL also, see the mapping from:

I know that there is at least some testing going on to get also the pressure
information from the touchscreen, getting it all the way to GTK. Don't know more
about that (too HW specific for me ;) so stay tuned!
