I am working towards this as well.

My long-range goal is to lower the entry-barrier to developers w/o linux 
systems, by allowing them to develop Python apps under "simulation" on 
MS Windows, and package them up for direct deployment to the 770.

Of course it'll work under Linux as well.

Also considering embedding HAP Debugger into the 770 Python run-time 
(well, a layer above python24.so)
