I think the objective will be to run a sandboxed maemo root filesystem on Linux, very much like UML( there possibly are other ways of achieving the same) and access the host pheripherals like BT and WLAN. This way you can mimic the entire Nokia 770 on your host machine, and that would really simplyfy development and hacking. Offcourse their would be a performace difference between this sandboxed and the real target.
