If you search in this mailing list you will see people from Nokia claiming
that there is also a built-in mic that you can use.

We are porting a SIP client to maemo.  We've got the core already running and
we are now working on the GUI.  This section of the maemo documentation
was very useful:

And as you well guess, we did not need to access the WLAN API.
