I understand this need. A couple of months ago I compiled a Kanotix 
harddisk image for use with CoLinux to allow people who don't like live 
CDs to run Linux as an application on windows. The image was distributed 
with a german magazine. This image was not widely accepted by normal 
users because they had to fiddle around with setting up an X server for 
windows but loved by developers who could use it for developing on and 
for linux without having to setup the complete Cygwin environment.

This would not make much since because of the limitations of the live 
CD. The current configuration stores all changes in the RAM and requires 
to manually save them when shutting down (I will fix the latter).

Rather than making the CD multiuser I will try to find out if it is 
possible to create a harddisk image for CoLinux based on the live CD.
