[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] Python package can't be installed

Using the stock production 770 firmware, I downloaded SDK 1.1 .deb 
files from 

http://pymaemo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/PythonForMaemo

When I try to install python2.4 using AI, it says:

Installation of Python 2.4 failed.

Under details it says:

Unable to install Python2.4, Component is built-in.

--

So I fire up xterm, but  I can't find python anywhere on the device.

Ideas?
