Perhaps it's a good idea to create an apt repository for non-official
Maemo packages (packages packaged and/or developed by non-Maemo
developers and/or packages that aren't included with the default
device)?

I hereby offer my bandwidth and server-harddisk for this specific
purpose. You can test the speed at, for example, http://mirror.freax.be/
(the device is co-located at realroot.be). But perhaps is the
Maemo-team/Nokia interested in doing this themselves? Which would also
be great, of course. Just note that it will most likely happen sooner or
later anyway.

If somebody (preferably somebody who knows a lot about Debian package
mirrors) is interested in setting it up, contact me.
