The situation is somewhat unclear because maintenance version of old stable branch has been released later than the new stable branch ;) Of course this doesn't mean that it can run all applications that are out there. IMHO best option is to use the 770 as a CPU-transparency device thus using the actual device for doing the arm stuff. Then one could use for example gdb server/strace for debugging on real device to find out what is happening. All graphics could be pointed to devices screen instead of xnest/xephyr/xvnc so even the UI can be debugged better.
